Hillary is an intern working on her Master of Social Work degree through Western New Mexico University. After graduation, she will seek licensure as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) in the State of Idaho. She received her Bachelor of Education in Social Work from Lewis Clark State College and had multiple internship programs and opportunities throughout this process.

Hillary has spent time volunteering in men’s prisons in the state of Idaho. She has led groups, helped them to work on personal struggles, and discussed family dynamics with the inmates. She also worked in Child Protection. She worked with children and adults of all ages, including case management and planning, home visits, and worked in group and individual counseling settings. She is interested in working with all age groups. Hillary utilizes a non-faith-based counseling approach unless discussed with the client. She has many different counseling approaches that can be utilized when working with clients. These will include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Hillary will work to find the best approach to counseling for each individual.  Gay Lewis, LPC, will be supervising Hillary’s internship.

Hillary will work alongside her clients so that they feel heard and respected through sharing their life experiences. She likes to develop a trusting relationship that will build as the client works and processes their own experiences.
