Kenyatta Matthews

Kenyatta graduated from Boise State University with her Master of Social Work. Kenyatta is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Idaho that specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults. Kenyatta uses appropriate approaches and individualizes care based on each client's needs. She is experienced in working with clients that are dealing with depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, anxiety, and PTSD. Kenyatta approaches her clients with an open mind. She is bi-cultural and appreciates and respects diversity.

Kenyatta was born and raised in the Lewis-Clark Valley. Before completing her Masters, Kenyatta earned her Bachelor of Social Work through Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC). During her time at LCSC Kenyatta worked for the Student Success Center where she assisted and supported college students by helping them understand key concepts to improve academic performance. Kenyatta is skilled in helping people adjust to major life changes by using a variety of interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Kenyatta offers both Christian and non-faith-based counseling. Kenyatta will work alongside her clients to build an honest, trusting relationship to allow a safe space for the client to meet their needs and goals.
