Gay Lewis is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. Gay provides therapy for adolescents 14 and older, individual adults, as well as couples.

She earned her degree of Bachelor in Psychology with a Minor in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Lewis Clark State College in 2006.  Gay moved to Seattle where she earned her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University.  While achieving her Masters degree, Gay interned as a Mental Health Counselor at Evergreen Manor, working with pregnant and parenting women struggling to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. Gay employed therapies that helped her clients heal life traumas and overcome addictions, enabling them to establish a healthy life for themselves and their children.  Gay returned to the Lewiston/Clarkston valley in 2011 and rejoined her alma mater as an adjunct instructor at Lewis Clark State College teaching in the Psychology Department.    In 2012, Gay became the Executive Director for C.A.S.A - Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children servicing 7 counties within Idaho and Washington. Before joining River Place in 2020, Gay worked as a Mental Health Counselor with Clearwater Counseling beginning in 2016, serving a broad spectrum of clientele.

Gay’s therapy focus centers on the perspective that wellness is achieved when obstacles within the mind, body and spirit are cleared.    She has been trained in Life Span Integration, an approach to therapy that helps heal trauma, past and present.   Gay has trained in a variety of therapy techniques including sex therapy and can provide guidance and tools to resolve challenges relating to sexual identity, gender identity, couple and intimacy issues.   Gay provides healing therapies for those who have endured physical, sexual, mental, and/or emotional abuse.   She is also adept at helping those suffering through the cycle of grief and loss. 

As a certified Reiki Master practitioner, Gay believes, teaches, and practices wellness of the mind, body and spirit connection.  With this practice it is important that we treat ourselves well in order to function in a healthy way. Employing care, empathy and compassion, she will help your sort out the situations, thoughts and beliefs that keep you stuck in patterns that can cause chaos, stress, depression and anxiety. Attending counseling is a commitment to healing.
